Born in Holland to a Dutch father and an American mother I was raised bilingual and lived in Holland, the USA and Turkey before settling to teach English in Japan. Originally trained as an art teacher at the Royal Academy of Art (The Hague) I later switched to teaching English and have experience teaching kids, adults and seniors.

I am a very sociable, enthousiastic person with a real love for teaching. With a varied working life and many interests I always do my best to find common ground to build communicative relationships with my students. I like thinking of creative ways of making students think for themselves, trying to inspire them and capture their imagination. In my spare time I enjoy surfing, snowboarding, painting and reading.
