Interactive Learning

We have English lessons as video tutorials for kids from kindergarten to primary school levels. Most of these lessons are vocabulary-based, using videos.

Private or Small Group Lesson.

Private lessons offer individual attention, accelerated learning, high comfort levels and flexible schedules. We book to suit your schedule. A good thing about one-on-one lessons is the ability to re-schedule your lessons. However, we do need 24 hour notice if your child, is going to miss a lesson. This gives us time to notify your instructor.

English for Kids

We help children improve their English so they can excel at Kindergarten & Primary School. Our courses also prepare children for success in language tests.

A well developed English language skills are vitally important for your child’s success at school and in exams. Your child’s future depends on how competently he or she learns to use the English language.

The more competent your child becomes processing written information, the more opportunities they will have in the future both at School and in life. English Teachers Tokyo programme was created to give children aged 4-10 years old the best possible chance of success.

COURSE LEVEL 1 (4 TO 6 YEARS OLD)

Review course details

Your child will be taught to read.
We teach Progression in Phonics, High Frequency Words, Sight Words and ‘Picture’ Words. Language is expanded with ‘Pattern & Rhyme’ and thematic vocabulary.
Single sounds and consonant blends encourage phonemic awareness.
Simple concepts of grammar (e.g. prepositions) are introduced, writing skills practised, speech developed with stories and topic discussion.
In this level comprehension is introduced by questions and answers that relate to reading passages.

COURSE LEVEL 2 (7 TO 8 YEARS OLD)

Review course details

Your child will be taught to consolidate and extend their phonemic awareness with ‘beginning, middle and ending’ sounds and to read independently.
This level continues to improve the student’s reading knowledge and comprehension.
New topics introduce vocabulary and the students are encouraged to ask their own questions.
New sight words are taught as they occur in the topics and exercises.
The oral exercises include prepositions, verbs, concepts of quantity and the questions words – why, where, which

COURSE LEVEL 3: (8 TO 9 YEARS OLD)

Review course details

Your child will be taught to appreciate the connection between illustrations and text, which generates opportunities to speak, listen and offer opinions.
This level encourages the student to sequence events relating to various characters, explore facts and opinions and ask their classmates questions.
Guided group reading is featured in this level. Communication skills are improved and opportunities are given for discussion.
The basic ‘Parts of Speech’ are introduced and practised.

COURSE LEVEL 3 (8 TO 9 YEARS OLD)

Discussion strategies are taught and your child will be encouraged to think independently.
New words are introduced and decoding practised as well as pronunciation definitions. Syllables are also taught and students are encouraged to research for extra information.
New characters and story lines are gradually introduced to motivate students to read, write and think independently.
Your child will be are encouraged to review and discuss situations with their classmates
